The Backup Quarterback: The Most Pouplar Guy In Town
Remember this fact and note that it is especially true when applied to mediocre or losing football teams at , "The backup QB is ALWAYS the most popular guy in town"…
It’s interesting that during the lockout, when Matt Hasselbeck was in town, everyone screamed how Charlie Whitehurst sucked and how the Seahawks should NOT have even given up a 4th round pick for him. Now, Tavaris Jackson (TJ) is in town (despite being the consummate pro while the Vikes walked all over him in the Favre debacle) with more experience, more starts, more wins and much greater command of the offense along with real field presence, the fans now want….wait for it, wait for it, Whitehurst. TJ is NOT the second coming of Warren Moon but, we know from NFL on-field experience, that he is better than Whitehurst and a serviceable NFL QB. Which is what the Seahawks need in a year in which they are playing a 1st place schedule and going NOWHERE! TJ is not the long-term solution but neither is Whitehurst. The real long-term solution is playing at Stanford.
Face it, most Seahawks fans are knee-jerkers that should IGNORE the preseason win/loss record and look at who’s better for the team when the games count. Consider this stat…since 2005, the Colts have lost more preseason games than regular season games (4-24 in preseason, 75-21 in regular season).
Focus Seahawk Fans, Focus! TJ is the better QB by far. Click on the picture for the stats and article to support such an argument.
